Ujjain Simhastha 2028:
dates, traditions & travel.
Ujjain’s Kumbh gathering brings pilgrimage, worship and the life of a sacred city together. Begin with the essentials, then shape a visit that is right for you.
Simhastha 2028 is the upcoming Ujjain gathering associated with the Shipra River. It is a different event from Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh. Our role is to help you understand the place, check the sources and plan your journey.
First, know what is confirmed
The Government of Madhya Pradesh’s MPSeDC publishes an official Ujjain Simhastha 2028 app. We have not independently verified a final festival date range or complete Shahi Snan calendar against an official notification in this research review.
That distinction matters before you commit to a particular date. Read our dates and source-status guide, and keep checking the district administration for the instructions that apply to your visit.
Then, make the journey your own
For some devotees, bathing in the Shipra is central. Others are planning Mahakaleshwar darshan, time with family, or a closer understanding of Ujjain’s temples. Start with one purpose and give it time.
- Build your first pilgrimage plan around your group and priorities.
- Choose how to reach Ujjain, including the final transfer.
- Compare accommodation by access, facilities and cancellation terms.
- Use the official temple services for the darshan or aarti you need.
- Understand the riverfront and respect the arrangements in force.
Understand the tradition
Ujjain’s sacred life extends beyond the mela. Its temple courtyards, riverfront and religious traditions deserve more than a rushed circuit. Read what Simhastha means and our introduction to the temples before you go.
