How to use the calculator
The total adds room rate × rooms × nights, return travel for each traveller, daily food for each traveller, and the group’s local transport and other costs. The extra allowance applies to that subtotal. The per-person figure divides the group total equally; it is a planning average, not what every traveller must pay.
Which costs belong where?
- Accommodation: use the tax-inclusive rate for one room. Add an extra bed charge to other expenses if it is not included.
- Return travel: include both directions. If airport transfers are part of this number, do not count them again under local transport.
- Meals: allow for travel days as well as sightseeing days. Deduct meals included in your room or package.
- Other expenses: include only planned purchases or confirmed service charges. This calculator does not imply that a festival entry fee or temple service is required.
Compare two plans fairly
Print the first plan, change the accommodation and transport costs, then print the second. When comparing Ujjain with an Indore base, include each extra transfer and think about the time it takes as well as the money. A cheaper room may not make a cheaper or more comfortable whole trip.
For varying nightly room prices, enter their average or calculate the accommodation total separately. Include any deposits in the total price only once: paying an advance does not make the trip more expensive unless an additional fee applies.
